Councillor Jeannette Matelot has revealed that Sustrans have finally completed their report on the Haddenham/Thame cycle path.
In a post on Facebook group, Love Thame she said "The major stumbling blocks are not funding but land ownership and the fact that less than 15% of the route is in Oxfordshire. 80% of the landowners in the Buckinghamshire section are unwilling to co-operate. There are two routes now being considered. The roadside route has full backing by Oxfordshire landowners but only 40% of Buckinghamshire landowners are willing to accommodate the route. The Greenway route which cuts across land north west of Thame has 80% of landowners unwilling to accommodate a cycle path on their land. The County Council has £800,000 of S106 funds from housing developments in Thame ring-fenced for the cycle path."
