Each October the District Councils work with the Fire Service and Trading Standards to offer free electrical safety checks for older and vulnerable people who use electric blankets to keep warm during the colder months.
This year due to the Covid-19 restrictions in place, electric blankets will be collected from people’s homes to be tested instead of people bringing their blankets to a venue to be tested.
