Second edition of ASPE (Sinaia) Gala

Thame-Sinaia Friendship Association (TSFA) who oversees the twinning between Thame and Sinaia, the Romanian mountain town and tourist resort in Romania’s Carpathians, has shared a press release from ASPE, its counterpart volunteer association based in Sinaia. Here is a summary of the most relevant sections.

For the past 16 years, ASPE has been acting as a cultural source of inspiration and promoter of books and readings among youngsters and adults.

Despite the pandemic our dreams, plans, projects, activities, collaboration with other NGOs in Prahova Valley have carried on. ASPE’s mottos: “Sinaia - cultural, creative and smart town” and “The Cultural Road Comarnic-Brasov” will guide them towards partnership projects with local NGOs and authorities.

On 8th May, 2021, just a day before Europe Day, “Gala ASPE” will be held on line, at 6 pm EE time, 4 pm BST.

During this annual event, certificates of recognition will be presented to ASPE members and to non-members who contribute to the promotion of culture and art.

Felicia Mirza and her team mates who produced ”Bucegii, the great sentinels of Sinaia” a documentary film about Bucegi Mountains were nominated for a gala prize. The film was released for the first time during Thame’s Digi TAL Festival in October 2020 and it is still available for free on the TAL website. Yvonne Maxwell, the TAL Director, Nigel Champken-Woods, TSFA Chairman, Marius Ciortan TSFA secretary and Daniela Mirza of Abingdon, Oxfordshire, have also been put forward.
