17th July 2026

The Thame–Sinaia Friendship Association is pleased to offer a Romanian Language and Culture course for beginners, designed for members who would like to develop basic conversational skills while gaining an insight into Romanian life and traditions.

This course will introduce participants to everyday Romanian language, building confidence in using simple phrases for greetings, introductions and day-to-day situations. Alongside language learning, the course will explore the rich culture and heritage of Romania, with a particular focus on Sinaia, Thame’s twin town, including its history, customs, landmarks and local traditions.

The course will consist of 10 online sessions, held on Thursday afternoons from 5:00–6:00 pm. We expect the start date will be 1st October 2026. The sessions will be interactive and varied, incorporating opportunities for guided conversation and cultural discussion in a relaxed and supportive environment.

Participants will have the opportunity to:

  • Learn and practise useful conversational Romanian
  • Find out about Romanian traditions, festivals and cuisine

This course is free of charge for members of the Thame–Sinaia Friendship Association. The annual membership is £10 per year and we look forward to welcoming new members.
