Local authorities have issued a warning to residents following a recent spike in the theft of high-performance cars. Motorists are being urged to take extra precautions to protect their vehicles, particularly those with keyless entry systems, which are increasingly being targeted by thieves.
In a statement, officials reminded vehicle owners to store their keyless fobs in Faraday pouches or boxes, which block the signals thieves often exploit to gain access. Residents were also advised to secure their keys in a safe location within their homes.
Authorities further recommended blocking vehicles in on driveways whenever possible and utilizing additional security measures to deter potential offenders. “Trackers and Apple AirTags are brilliant tools for protecting vehicles,” the statement said, highlighting their role in aiding police efforts to locate stolen cars and apprehend criminals.
The community was urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity immediately. Law enforcement emphasized that public cooperation is vital in combating this rise in vehicle thefts.
For any unusual or suspicious incidents, residents are encouraged to contact the police without hesitation.
