19th March 2026
Residents in Thame are being asked to share their views on proposed changes to the town council as part of South Oxfordshire District Council’s 2026 Community Governance Review.
The consultation includes plans to reorganise how Thame Town Council is structured, following recommendations from the Local Government Boundary Commission for England.
For Thame, the proposals focus on changes to parish warding arrangements. This would include redistributing councillors between wards and creating two new wards to replace the current ones.
There is also a proposed boundary change between Thame and Great Haseley, which would see land currently within Great Haseley parish brought into Thame.
If approved, the changes would come into effect in time for the May 2027 local elections.
