This is a reminder that Thame Carnival will not be happening this year. The carnival committee announced this decision back in October, where they said:
| “After many wonderful years of community celebration, Sharon is stepping down as Lead for Thame Carnival due to personal reasons. The committee has also decided to step down because they currently have fewer than five volunteers — which simply isn’t enough to run an event of this scale. At this time, the committee isn’t in a position to continue, and the Carnival cannot go ahead without significantly more community engagement. While they're not reinventing the event, they do hope this pause creates space for a fresh reinvention — led by new energy and ideas from the community." Read the full statement here. |
