On Saturday 28 May, ShopAppy.com, an online shopping scheme for local businesses across the UK, launches in Thame at the brand new event, 'Taste of Thame'. Funded by South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse District Councils, the ShopAppy website enables local independent shops and businesses in Thame to show information, products and services they have for sale. The scheme also allows customers to browse virtual shop windows, order products, and book appointments and events.
The online service gives customers extra flexibility, with the opportunity to use a local click and collect point at Racquets Fitness Centre.
A note from Becky, Market Town Coordinator at Thame Town Council 'This is a great opportunity for Thame residents to be able to find out about the incredible range of products and services the wonderful independent businesses in Thame have to offer all in one place. Not only that - you will be able to order them for delivery direct to your doorstep! This is Thame’s opportunity to support our town centre businesses and help them thrive.'
Taste of Thame will be a chance to discover and reconnect with a wide range of local food and drink producers. In addition, there will be a raffle with top prizes of vouchers, cash, hampers and more. The Raffle will raise vital funds for Thame food bank. Tickets can be bought via the Taste of Thame website.
This exciting new event will showcase the best of food and drink across the town. Residents and visitors will be treated to a food trail which will link local food businesses from butchers to bakers, cafes to coffee shops, restaurants to retailers, all in celebration of food and drink. Enjoy dining out at the Butter Market Banquet, watching demonstrations and sampling some free tasters. There will also be a Ukrainian café with bakes make by residents who have recently moved to Thame from Ukraine – donations from this will raise funds to support them to settle into the community.
