Four new trees will soon be bringing shade and greenery to Thame town centre, thanks to local businesses sponsoring the project.
The trees will be planted in planters near benches, creating more comfortable places for people to sit and enjoy the town centre, while helping to increase biodiversity and improve resilience to hotter weather.
Supplied by Haddenham Garden Centre, the four trees selected are Liquidambar, Prunus nipponica, Sorbus ‘Sheerwater’ and Prunus subhirtella ‘Autumnalis Rosea’.
The project has been partially funded by Community Action Groups Project (Oxfordshire) Limited (CAGPOL) and supported by Oxfordshire County Council through a Community Resilience grant.
Thame Town Council would like to thank the businesses making this project possible: Lightfoots Solicitors, Kubota, Travelodge and Thame Cars.
