A broken public bench outside the Thame Health Centre has now been replaced thanks to joint working between Oxfordshire County Council and Thame Town Council.
As ownership of the original bench could not be established, Oxfordshire County Council provided funding for a new replacement, which will now become a Thame Town Council asset.
Thame Town Council has also chosen to dedicate the new bench as a memorial to mark VE80 and VJ80 in 2025, honouring 80 years since the end of the Second World War in Europe and the Pacific.
This collaboration ensures the community continues to have a welcoming place to sit and rest, while also creating a meaningful tribute for future generations.
