Music In The Park 2021 is cancelled

Please see the below from the Music In The Park event organisers:

For the second year running, we are in the desperately sad position of having to cancel Music in the Park. Our aim, as organisers, is to provide the people of Thame with a fun-packed day out, filled with first-class music and dance in a safe environment. However, against the background of the continuing pandemic, exacerbated by new, highly-transmissible variants, we have regretfully decided that the most responsible course of action to take is to cancel Music in the Park 2021.

Our priority in doing this is to safeguard the people of Thame, and our performers, stallholders and volunteers. While vaccines are currently being rolled out, the projected vaccination rates mean we would not be in a position to guarantee the safety of everyone participating.

In addition, to be able to put on a festival of this nature in early May means we need cast-iron commitments from suppliers, stallholders, performers, advertisers, sponsors and volunteers now and, understandably, they are not in a position to be able to make such commitments due to the continuing uncertainty.

We plan to be back better than ever in 2022 in our usual Bank Holiday Sunday slot on 1st May. Keep an eye on our social media accounts and website for further details.

To all our performers, traders and sponsors, we will be in touch shortly.
