Max Heathman signs for Chinnor

CHINNOR RFC Thame is delighted to announce the signing of back-row forward Max Heathman.

The 23-year-old joins from Taunton Titans and adds a physical presence to our pack for the 2021/22 National League 1 season.

Heathman impressed when coming off the bench in Saturday’s adapted laws friendly at Esher, producing a combative and try-scoring performance.

Having previously played for Caldicot, the openside flanker went on to Hartpury College before spending four years with Cardiff Met. While in Wales he studied Sports Conditioning, Rehabilitation & Massage, before a Masters in Strength & Conditioning.

Heathman is thrilled to join our Chinnor Family.

He said: “I’m really pleased to sign for the Club. I’ve joined Chinnor because they have a great set-up and have the right people in the right places, with aspirations to push the Club to higher levels and I want to be a part of that. I want to help Chinnor gain promotion and, on a personal level, push as far as I can within the game.”

Chinnor RFC Thame Director of Rugby, Richard Thorpe added: “Max is a naturally physical openside flanker, who has already impressed with his carrying and tackling ability. A specialist openside is always a desirable asset in a squad. Max's hunger, work ethic and destructiveness on the field will not go unnoticed next season as we step back into full competitive games.”
