Lord Williams’s School has announced plans to install new perimeter fencing as part of a project to strengthen the safety and security of its site.
According to information shared by the school on Facebook, the fencing works are scheduled to take place between February and April 2026. The project is intended to enhance site security, improve student safety during school hours, and ensure the school grounds are appropriately protected at all times.
The school stated that it has a fundamental duty of care to provide a safe, secure, and protected environment for students, staff, and visitors, and that this responsibility has become increasingly important in recent times. The decision to proceed with the fencing follows careful consideration and aligns with the school’s safeguarding and risk management obligations.
The total cost of the project will be just under £800,000. The school confirmed that the entire project will be funded by the Department for Education.
Construction works are expected to cause minimal disruption to teaching and learning. As the project involves changes to the school’s perimeter fencing, the school has asked for understanding and support from the community while the work is carried out.
