Lord Williams’s School students were honoured to be visited by British gymnast Max Whitlock

Lord Williams’s School students were honoured to be visited by British gymnast Max Whitlock (who won two individual Gold medals and a Bronze medal at the Rio Olympics this year).

Over 300 students in Year 7 attended an assembly with Max, where he answered their questions, treated them to a gymnastics display and posed for photos with his Olympic medals.

“It was a fantastic opportunity for our students to meet a young man who is at the top of his career” said Richard Beerling, Head of PE at Lord Williams’s.

“As far as role models go he was brilliant and gave a real insight into what is required to be an Olympic champion. There was a real buzz after it was announced he was coming to visit.

The students went to town preparing questions for him and he answered them very openly and honestly. His experience and advice about achieving personal goals will be invaluable.”

Max’s visit was organised by Aylesbury Nissan who have been supporting him for the past three years. Aylesbury Nissan are proud to be working with local schools, providing students with the inspiring opportunity to meet an Olympic champion.
