A public site notice posted on Aylesbury Road in Thame confirms that Lidl Great Britain Limited has submitted a prior approval application to South Oxfordshire District Council for the proposed demolition of a building located at 47 Aylesbury Road, OX9 3PG.
The application falls under the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) (England) Order 2015, specifically Schedule 2, Part 11, Class B, which covers the demolition of buildings. Lidl is seeking a determination on whether formal prior approval from the local authority will be required before work can begin.
According to the notice, the supermarket chain plans to carry out demolition on or after 20 June 2026, giving local residents and stakeholders several months to comment or raise concerns through the district council’s planning channels.
