Latest vaccine news from Thame GP surgeries

Unity HealthBasically we have completed our over 80’s, our care homes and some social/healthcare staff. We have also been vaccinating other Practice’s local care home residents in response to a national call to vaccinate care home patients urgently.

We have also vaccinated some of our 75-79 years olds; we will receive 1600 vaccines towards the end of this week and intend to target our housebound patients and the 75-79 year olds.

Rycote Practice
Staff at the Rycote Practice are working 7 days a week to ensure that patients are vaccinated as soon as the Covid-19 vaccine arrives with us. We have now vaccinated all patients aged 75 or over who we have been able to contact and who have been well enough to receive the vaccine. If you are aware of any patient who is 75 or older who has not yet had their first dose of the vaccine please contact the surgery so that we can arrange their first dose. We have also vaccinated hundreds of frontline health and social care workers who are eligible for priority vaccination under government criteria.

We are now starting to focus on our shielding patients and those over the age of 70. We are fully committed to rolling out the vaccine as quickly as possible and are extremely grateful to patients for their support, understanding and words of encouragement at this extremely busy time. It means a huge amount to our doctors, nurses and administrative staff – thank you.

Please also remember that with infection rates still so high it is vitally important that you continue to wear a mask, practice good hand hygiene and observe social distancing until larger numbers of patients have been vaccinated. Stay Safe. Protect the NHS. Save Lives.
