During July we delivered 68 food parcels.
These provided for 100 adults and 64 children.
90% of these households were referred by one of our partner agencies.
The Community Larder which meets at Christchurch Hall every Thursday between 2.30pm and 4.30pm. now has 100 members. Fareshare supply the food for this which comes from wholesale surpluses of the main supermarkets and is managed by SOFEA, a charity based in Didcot who deliver the food each week.
If you haven’t done so already please download the Foodbank app from the website on to your smartphone (Android and Apple) and select 'Sharing Life Trust Thame' when asked for the location. This gives you a regular update on our most needed items. (The app is run by Redemption Media and the logo is the word Food Bank in green lettering.)
The current ‘urgently needed’ items are:
1litre cartons of UHT fruit juice, 500g and 1kg bags of granulated sugar, tins of soup, tinned meat (stew, mince or meat pies), savoury snacks, jars of jam and packs of toilet rolls.
As the cost of living crisis deepens this autumn your continued support is going to be vital to us and the many households experiencing poverty that we support. There are foodbanks located in the three supermarkets and the Town Hall.
