Below is an update from the Community Services Committee meeting on 24 March 2026
The Committee discussed events arranged by Officers, which included feedback from Christmas in Thame 2025, discussed upcoming events including Taste of Thame, Thame Town Awards, Thame Art Crawl and Christmas 2026 events.
It is recommended that Full Council approve the Terms of Reference and membership for the new Town Centre Working Group. The Communications Strategy will also be presented to Full Council on 31 March for approval and adoption.
Several policies were discussed and approved, including the Hire Agreement, Emergency Response Plan, Marking the Death of a Senior National Figure, Schedule of Charges for 2026/27 and Social Media & Media Relations Policy.
The Committee received updates on Community Safety and Community Partnerships.
Cllr Wainwright provided a progress update on the UK Town of Culture Expression of Interest. The Council extends thanks to all residents and groups who have contributed to the bid so far.
Finally, the Committee agreed to apply to SODC for CIL funding for the Community & Youth Centre and a small Active Grant to help improve the running track surface and markings at Southern Road Recreational Ground.
