Join Rotary Plastic Blitz - Litter Pick in Chinnor on Sunday 19 May 2024

9th May 2024

Help raise awareness about the plastic pollution!

Where: Drift Way, Chinnor

Starting Point: Mill Lane School Car Park, Chinnor OX39 4RF

Sunday 19 May 2024

Start time: 10:00 am

End time: 12:00 noon

Participants are required to be in good physical condition, wear wellington boots and garden gloves. Children can participate provided they are under the supervision of responsible adults.

The tasks are simple: collect waste all along the Drift Way. At the end of the event, the amount of type of waste collected - plastic, metal, glass etc - will be counted for a couple of sample bags. The data will be then be added into the Thames21 portal. By the end of June the scale of plastic pollution will be known as many other local groups across the Thames Valley will be carrying out PlasticBlitz events in May and June.

The event is run by Chinnor Rotary #peopleofaction with support from Chinnor & Thame Friends of the Earth and Chinnor Wombles.

The data collection questionnaire is provided by Thames21, the environment charity aiming to improve River Thames and its tributaries for people and wildlife.
