Join Rotary in GB and Ireland online events from March till May

Rotary Club of Thame & District is inviting the public in Thame and neighbouring villages to join the online events organised by Rotary International in Great Britain and Ireland in the next couple of months.

Volunteer Expo Online, a series of free events, will take place on 7 and 8 May. Rotary is bringing to life the UK’s first national volunteering show, celebrating the impact of volunteers, charities and social impact organisations. This will be a ground-breaking public event for Rotary and the whole volunteer sector with speakers, workshops and virtual exhibition. Rotary GB & Ireland Virtual Health Fair will take place on Saturday 27th March from 2pm till 4.30pm. Rotary is committed to creating happier and healthy communities, and the Virtual Health Fair will bring together a host of organisations addressing some of society’s most important health needs, including Carers UK, The Stroke Association, Dementia Friends and more. The Together Talks will take place online on Tuesday 16th and 30th March at 7.05pm. Rotary's series of online events continues throughout March. On the 16th the actor Jenny Seagrove will talk about treating animals and the nature world with respect. Then on the 30th Dr John Blakey will be giving his 9 habits for leadership success. During the time of the pandemic, Rotary Club of Thame & District and Phoenix Community Club members have continued supporting the local community, have been meeting safely online and have been welcoming 8 new members since March 2020. The clubs’ doors are largely open to welcome new volunteer members.

Haddenham Park Care Home: Stroke UK Meet & Move
Join the Stroke UK Meet & Move monthly support group for stroke survivors and their caregivers. Hosted as part of the Stroke Association support network, each session offers helpful information, resources, and a welcoming community. Stroke survivors can take part in a 45–60 minute exercise class led by a qualified instructor, while caregivers can enjoy coffee and social time in the piano lounge and connect with others. When: Last Tuesday of every month, 11:00am–12:00pm (starting 28 July 2026)Where: Haddenham Park Care Home & Apartments, Tibbs Road, Haddenham, Buckinghamshire, HP17 8FH A supportive space to stay active, share experiences, and meet others affected by stroke.

Join this free monthly support group for people living with Parkinson's and their caregivers. Held on the first Monday of every month from 11:00am–12:00pm, the session includes a gentle, physiotherapist-led exercise class for participants with Parkinson's, while caregivers can enjoy coffee, cake and the opportunity to connect with others in a relaxed, supportive environment.
