Last night intruders were spotted in various back gardens in Cromwell Avenue, Thame.
It is not clear what the intruders were after, but some of the properties had outdoor sheds and may have been opportunistic thieves as they were trying door handles to houses.
The intruders awoke one home owner who must have startled them as they were seen jumping over fences into different gardens to escape.
The police have been informed and home owners are urged to make sure all doors and windows are secure and locked to help prevent potential break ins.
