The Greenway Group, which is campaigning for a walking, wheeling and cycling route between Thame and Haddenham, has received an encouraging response to the petition launched at the end of August: over 2,900 people have signed. Many people will be aware that the Greenway has been under consideration by Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire councils for over 20 years. We are assured that the project is live and that work is actively taking place on route options. However, we would like to demonstrate to our elected representatives the strength of support for being able to reach our neighbouring community safely and healthily without resorting to motorised transport or having to face the dangers of the main roads between Thame and Haddenham.
Please help to spread the word about the petition. Circulate the info through your networks please. Hopefully we’ll have some positive news about the project later this autumn.
