Grow your own in Oxfordshire with Bloor Homes

In celebration of National Allotment Week (13-19 August) Bloor Homes South Midlands is delighted to announce the creation of two brand new allotments in Oxfordshire.

Located within Bloor Homes’ sold out Springfield Farm development in Ambrosden and its Thame Meadows development in Thame, Bloor Homes will create a total allotment area of almost 7,500 square meters.

The allotments at Springfield Farm, which are located on the southern edge of the development, on the east and west sides of The Watermeadows, have now reached completion and are soon to be transferred to the Ambrosden Parish Council for allocation. Approximately 25 plots of 100 square meters will be available for members of the local community.

In addition to the allotment plots, Bloor Homes has also invested in the creation of 18 car parking spaces, including three disabled spaces, gated access, enclosure fencing, boundary planting and water connection points.

Richard Sarraff, managing director for Bloor Homes South Midlands commented: “Allotments are an important part of any community, fostering a real sense of pride within the local area.

“With this year’s National Allotment Week designed to celebrate the hard work which is put into creating, developing and managing allotments, we are very pleased to announce their completion at Springfield Farm and look forward to seeing them being allocated and utilised by local residents over the forthcoming months and years.”

Meanwhile, the allotments at Thame Meadows development are nearing completion and will provide approximately 16 plots of 125 square meters for allocation to local residents on completion.

The allotments, which are located in the South West corner of the development, will also see the creation of a cycle park including a shelter for 10 bikes, nine car parking spaces including one disabled space, gated access, enclosure fencing, boundary planting and water connection points.

Richard concludes: “With a range of three and four-bedroom designs currently available at Thame Meadows, there is still the opportunity for any green fingered buyers to secure their ideal home now and then an allotment plot on-site following their completion in 2019.”

Thame Meadows currently offers a range of three and five bedroom homes, with prices for a three bedroom Staunton design starting from £495,000.
