RESULT: Thame United 3 - 1 Didcot Town
Goals from Carnell, Pearce & Hackett gave the Red Kites all 3 points against the Railwaymen at the ASM Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Thame made a slow start and a sloppy pass at the back saw Didcot get in behind and take the lead with 9 minutes on the clock.
It took Thame 5-10 mins to get into the game after the Didcot goal but gradually they took control of the half.
Hackett and new signing Ngathe were looking strong on either flank and a few chances had come & gone before Carnell swept the Red Kites level after a Pearce corner.
It was Pearce who would then give Thame the lead when he converted from the spot on 44 minutes, the penalty given after Didcot keeper Bedwell brought down Hackett.
Thame started the second half strongly and Hackett gave Thame a cushion when his strike took a deflection and flew into the net.
The visitors looked for a way back into the game but were either wasteful in front of the goal or were thwarted by Hill in the Thame goal (and some excellent defending).
An excellent result for Thame who continue to make great strides after a difficult start to the season.
