THE BIG THAME BAKING STAGE

This is a brand spanking new Stage for the Festival this year - shiny, sparkly and sprinkled with glitter - it’s the perfect showcase for our Band of Baking Blokes and Birds!

We have Baking Genius lined up for you on the day….

First up, all the way from her cookery school in Sussex -  the gorgeous Miranda Gore Browne - Finalist of the GBBO in 2010.

Will Torrent - our very own Chocolate God - baking his Nan’s delicious Chocolate Cake for us to dribble over!

Richard Burr - GBBO finalist from 2014 - Builder, Baker and all round nice chap! Never without a pencil behind his ear - his bakes are constructions of joy and he’ll be showing us his tips and tricks of the er…cake building trade!

Benoit Blin - Raymond Blanc’s Head Pastry Chef at Belmond Le Manoir for 20 years. He leads and trains a team of 13 looking after all the desert and bread preparation - and then of course he was one of the starring judges in BBC’s Creme de la Creme this year! But on the day he is all ours!

Richard Bertinet - All the way from Bath and gracing the stage for us for the second year. Richard’s baking presence, great humour and genuine warmth are a delight to watch. Seen many times on television - including BBC’s Saturday Kitchen and Extra Slice- he is a brilliant and knowledgable baker.

Another 2014 GBBO prodigy - Chetna Makan - a fabulous competitor in the show with her spicy bakes. She loves to cook - whether it’s a simple chutney or a complicated recipe and we are very happy to have her with us.

Last but definitely not least - our Headliner on the Big Thame Baking Stage - the gorgeous Nadiya Hussain - last year’s winner for Great British Bake Off. She’s taken the nation by storm and leapt into our hearts, and now she will be leaping onto our Stage to show us just why she was the winner! We can’t wait to spend the day with her and we  know you’re as excited as we are.

And in between these fabulous people - we have the Prize Giving for this year’s Big Thame Bake - our annual competition - hosted by Jane Hornby. www.janehornby.com

And…. The Fully Risen Interview - Join Lotte Duncan www.lotteduncan.com 0n stage for the interview we’ve all been waiting for! How many GBBO stars can you actually fit on the one stage? Well pop along on the day and find out ! Plus we have a surprise GBBO star coming on the day too!

It all kicks off at 9.30am - Hosted by the delightful Suzy Pelta. http://www.suzypeltabakes.com
