The meeting focuses on the Council’s annual governance arrangements, and updates on community projects. Councillors will elect the Town Mayor and Deputy Town Mayor for 2026–27.
Councillors will:
- Approve the committee structure and responsibilities for 2026–27
- Appoint Councillors to the Council’s standing committees
- Approve the Scheme of Delegations, which sets out decision‑making responsibilities
- Consider arrangements for external organisation appointments and working groups
- Approve the Standing Orders (rules governing how meetings are run)
- Approve the Financial Regulations, with highlighted updates for approval
Several community‑focused items will be discussed:
- A proposal from Thame Town Cricket Club to install a youth training pitch at Church Meadow.
- An update on the Community & Youth Centre Project, including demolition works at Southern Road Recreation Ground, planning conditions, and progress on appointing a main building contractor.
Members of the public are welcome at all meetings. A public participation period is set aside at the start of each meeting in which the public may ask questions or make comments regarding any matter. In order to speak at a Council meeting, members of the public must apply in writing to the Town Clerk by 5pm on the day preceding the meeting.
