Here are the figures for foodbank use during November:
A total of 71 parcels were distributed providing for 93 adults and 76 children
75% of households were referred by one of our partner agencies and the others self-referred.
This is the largest monthly total that we have ever experienced, exceeding June’s total of 69. The main reasons for referrals are people struggling with debt, a sudden drop in income or problems waiting for benefit payments.
The Community Larder membership has plateaued at about 60 and we have managed to maintain this during Lockdown 2 by introducing strict limits on the number in Christchurch hall at any one time.
Community Christmas in a Box has this year been led by Amy Spicer of the Red Kite Family Centre and Sam Bellia from the Phoenix Community Club. 179 nominations for Christmas boxes were received. A full report on this will follow soon.
