Oxfordshire Day is celebrated on 19 October to promote the historic English county of Oxfordshire.
It is also the principal feast day of the patron saint of the city and university of Oxford, St. Frideswide. The flag derives from the arms awarded to Oxon County Council in 1949.
To mark the occasion the Mayor of Thame, Cllr Ann Midwinter and representatives from Thame Historical Society who requested that a flag be flown in Thame will be raising the flag on the flagpole outside the Town Hall on Friday 18 October at 10.30am.
