Flexible coworking arrives in Thame

Working from home used to be the choice of the few, with most making the daily commute by car or train to the office. For those who run their own business, or provide freelance services however, the daily commute often means climbing the stairs and settling down for a days’ work in the spare room.

A movement of change has been underway for some time now in larger towns and cities across the UK, with companies such as WeWork, Fora, and Spaces transforming office buildings into flexible working spaces for coworking, meeting, and team building. These spaces offer small businesses and freelancers quality office space, without the overhead of a dedicated office.

2021 and the (hopeful) end of the global pandemic, will see a huge shift in terms of what “the office” means. Many larger businesses are doing away with their central office all together, and others will have a staggered return, or permanent flexible working arrangement. But where does this leave those who still value so much about the office?

We believe flexible coworking arrangements will be a key benefit to working life moving forward and, when not in the main office, people will have a need for a coworking environment, complete with a conventional desk, chair, and a distraction-free space to be as, if not more, productive.

Those who have always worked from home may now, like many, be climbing the walls for some space, social interaction, and a working environment that promotes a better work life balance.

The Yard is a new community coworking space in Thame offering flexible coworking (and virtual coworking) for those seeking an escape from the spare room. With free parking, and 24/7 access, members can enjoy electronic sit-stand desks, proper ergonomic office chairs, a private meeting room, relaxing break-out space, all with super-fast internet, and free tea & coffee.

You can join us today for a FREE half-day-trial. No need to book in a time, simply sign up online, download the app, and let yourself in. Membership starts from £29 for a day pass, with flexible hot desking from £79/month for a 20-hour pass, and £149/month for a 40-hour pass, and £299/month for a dedicated desk.

We hope to create a real community of local Thame businesses, freelancers, and remote workers, and look forward to welcoming you to The Yard.
