Fire engines from Watlington Fire Station, Aylesbury Fire Station and Rewley Road Fire Station, Oxford were faced with a well-developed fire in a double garage following a 999 call at 1:47pm on Sunday 07 November.
Firefighters acted quickly, using breathing apparatus and high pressure hose reels to extinguish the fire before it spread to the attached house, but not before it had destroyed much of the garage and contents.
Incident Commander, Dave King, said: “Luckily, no one was injured in this fire, but I would urge owners to ensure they clear the lint filters of their tumble dryers before every use and never use a tumble dryer during the night when you are asleep.”
