Thame & District Lions Club sadly came to a close on Sunday after 42 years of serving Thame and its community. The Lions Club have been a key part of so many community events including Thame Tidy, the Festive Fun Run and Thame Carnival, whilst also fundraising for local causes.
They provided volunteers to fundraise and control the car park at the recreation ground for the September Fair; provided a Santa and sold mulled wine at the Christmas Lights Switch-On; managed tickets sales at the first Music in the Park; painted the war memorial gates (pictured), and much more. They have also just kindly given a donation for a new tree to be planted at Elms Park.
Whilst the Thame Lions group will cease to exist, many of its members are keen to carry on some of the activities which the Lions supported, so watch this space...
