In the evening, a Beacon Lighting event will take place at the Memorial Gardens, plus there will be live music from Tay o'Lay who will perform songs throughout the decades since WW1. The Chippy (Upper High Street) will be offering 100 free cones of chips as part of the event, and The W Cafe (formerly Delphine Art) will be open late from 6:30pm - 8:30pm serving hot drinks and brownies.
On Rememberance Sunday there will be a road closure in place from the entrance to the Upper High Street car park to the Park Street / East Street roundabout. For the morning Remembrance event, the road closure will come into force at 10am until midday, and then again for the Beacon Lighting from 4pm until 9pm. There will be no parking by Memorial Gardens all day on Sunday.
One of the many commemorative projects and events taking place in Thame (you can read about these here), will be a community art installation at The Old Train Station Platform on the Phoenix Trail. The Living Monument will be open 10am - 10pm this weekend and is a project created by local artist Charlotte Chatfield in collaboration with Sustans and Thame Town Council.
