In conjunction with Thame Town Council and the Lea Park Residents Association, Red Kite Radio will be joining forces with radio stations up and down the country to broadcast Doorstep Carols.
The idea is fairly straightforward. At 6:00pm on Wednesday 16th December all of the participating radio stations will broadcast the same popular carols and people in the area can come out to their doorsteps and join in a national carol service.
Becky Reid of Thame Town Council said ‘Although Covid-19 means Thame’s traditional ‘Carols Round the Tree’ cannot go ahead this year we are not letting that stand in the way of some community singing. Lea Park Residents’ Association, supported by Thame Town Council are asking all residents to get involved in singing from their Doorsteps on Wednesday 16 Dec at 6pm instead. Music will be broadcast by Red Kite Radio to help us all stay in time and carols sheets will be available to download nearer to the time!’
