‘Thame Drive Electric’ is back for another year on 10 September 10am-3.30pm in the Upper High Street Car Park, and its getting bigger and better, and it’s totally free.
This year again, local EV owners with be there with their electric cars (EVs), so you can chat about their personal experience, plus test drive or ride in a Tesla, all based in ‘Electric Avenue’. One of the EVs will have their battery hooked up to an appliance to provide the power– come and see how that works!
Also there will be lots of opportunity to find out about how to charge an EV in Thame – we now have 14 public EV Charge Points in Thame, a huge leap forward from Sept 2021! Charging an EV at home and on the move is featured too.
A lower cost option is to hire an EV for a few hours or days and last year many residents registered their interest in a community EV Hire Club for Thame and Haddenham. After lots of research and planning this club will officially launch at Thame Drive Electric. If you haven’t signed up yet come along and visit us, see how the EV Hire Club can save you money whilst cutting your carbon footprint .
If cycling is more for you, Thame Cycles will have a great selection of electric bikes on show too, come and pick their brains about all the different features .
NEW this year is the ‘Energy Marquee’ with lots of ideas on how you might cut down on your energy use at home this winter whilst staying warm and healthy. Come and find out what you can do or where to get help.
We’ll also have our fabulous Thame Green Living Eco-Raffle with a fantastic range of prizes from local businesses. Looking forward to seeing you all there Saturday 10 September and chatting about saving money and cutting our collective carbon emissions.
This event is organised by Thame Green Living www.thamegreenliving.org.uk and supported by 21st Century Thame. If you’d like to be involved or run a project with us please contact us via the website or at the event.
