Cuttle Brook Conservation Volunteers have been busy over the past few months with various projects, including a multi-stage project which will involve reducing erosion and silting, improving the flow, creating refuge points for fish and amphibians and replacing the dipping platform at the pond. They hope that work can begin August or September, now that all relevant planning applications to the Environment Agency have been made.
The volunteers are also looking at purchasing a high-definition wildlife camera to take time-lapse or motion triggered photos and videos automatically. They will also be purchasing four new noticeboards soon.

The Cuttle Brook working party meet on the third Sunday and last Wednesday of each month, and welcome any new members. The next social will take place on Wednesday 14 June at 8pm at The Six Bells, where the volunteers will plan their Sunday session. The Sunday work party will next meet on the 18 June, where they will be conducting a plant survey as well as nettle-bashing, water sampling and preparing for the Cuttle Brook family picnic on 24 June.
