The annual site visit was attended by a number of Councillors and Officers along with 4 members of the Cuttle Brook Volunteers (David Laver, John Morris, Mike Furness and Dave Watkins) who gave an interesting talk on the current work of the CBV’s.
The CBV also discusssed possible future works and the current issues that they face in this very well used nature reserve. John Morris from CBV talked about the effects of Ash dieback on the trees within the reserve and the management plans of this disease on the trees that are effected with the disease.
A new 5 year Management Plan for the reserve is being prepared this year by the CBV’s. During the visit we saw a Pyramidal Orchid in the West Meadows (pictured right). 3 species of orchids have been found within Cuttle Brook this year.
