THE EASTER Bunny has arrived early at a Thame opticians with a giant 1.5kg Easter egg up for grabs in a bid to raise money for the British Heart Foundation.
Specsavers on the High Street in Thame is running the raffle to raise funds for the heart charity. Tickets are available in store between now and Friday 15 April for a suggested donation of £2 per strip. The lucky winner will be drawn on Saturday 16 April.
Alongside the raffle, the team at the store are also inviting local primary school children to show off their colouring skills to be in with the chance of winning some egg-cellent prizes.
Children wanting to take part can pick up a colouring template from the store, with all entries to be received by Friday 15 April. There are two age categories – under 8s and for those aged 8 to 12 years old with an Easter goody pack for the winner in each category, alongside runner-up prizes.
‘We’re looking forward to seeing what artistic skills the young community have to offer,’ comments Specsavers Thame store director, Neil Perry. ‘It’s also been incredibly tempting having the large egg in store, especially as we’re big chocoholics! There’s no doubt that whoever gets to take it home is in for a smashing chocolate-filled Easter.’
In line with guidance from the NHS, Specsavers is keeping safety measures in place, including the wearing of face coverings, unless there is a medical exemption. This includes maintaining social distancing in stores, continuing to use PPE and sanitising all testing equipment and frames before and after each use.
Doors will be kept open whenever possible to improve ventilation and although card payments are still preferred, cash payments will be accepted too.
Specsavers will also continue to operate its Ask The Expert chat function on its website and its RemoteCare service, which enable customers to speak to an expert from the comfort of their home via video call or phone.
