Community Sewing Day at Haddenham Park care home in support of Project Linus UK

11th March 2026

A truly, heart‑warming sewing event took place on Saturday in support of Project Linus UK, bringing together Haddenham Park residents and local volunteers for a day of creativity, connection, and community spirit.

The quilts made during the session will be donated to a range of local organisations, including Stoke Mandeville Hospital and Hospice, as well as local schools for use in their quiet rooms, offering comfort to children and young people at moments when they need it most.

A touching moment came when Claudette, a member of the Haddenham Park team shared a special memory. Her son, now an adult, received a Project Linus quilt 20 years ago following the loss of his father. Despite being just nine years old at the time, he has kept the quilt ever since as a treasured source of comfort. Stories like this beautifully capture the true purpose of these handmade gifts “a warm hug when it’s needed most”

The 14 wonderful volunteers expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to use the complimentary Community Room and were impressed by the facilities, atmosphere, and the support shown throughout the day. As a token of appreciation, a custom‑made padded mat was gifted, designed to reflect the Majesticare logo.

Ann-Marie Baker – Customer Relations Manager

“It was wonderful to see our residents and colleagues come together in our Community Room in support of Project Linus. The quilts made with such care will bring comfort to young people who truly need it, and we are incredibly proud to play a small part in that. We look forward to welcoming the sewing group back very soon.”
