Christmas in Thame - what's on this week

The Christmas Lights Switch On - Friday 3 December from 5.30pm
It's what we've all been waiting for! Our gorgeous Christmas tree is once again sponsored by ASM Auto Recycling, who have also provided £250.00 worth of prizes for the Santa Hat Search competition. This year's Switch On event, kindly sponsored by Lightfoots Solicitors and hosted by Paddy Harris (Cornerstone Church) and Anthony Taylor (Grace Church), will begin with music by Thame Concert Band, stilt walkers and mulled wine served by the OX9ers. Don't forget to bring a present for the 'Big Gift Give'! At 6.00pm Santa will arrive alongside children who have been nominated by Thame's primary schools to switch on the lights, after which the band will continue playing until 6.30pm. Don't forget to support our local businesses who are staying open especially for the event to offer late night shopping and special offers until 7pm! Fisher German Estate Agents will be running a Festive Evening and Christmas Grotto in their offices (17 High Street) from 5:30pm raising funds for Thame's foodbank.

Santa's Grotto - Sunday 5 December, 11.00am - 3.00pm
Santa will be visiting Thame and setting up his grotto in the Town Hall ready to meet any children who want to come and pay him a visit. Let him know what you would like for Christmas, listen to some festive music while you wait and receive a small present. Please make a donation if you can (cash only), with all proceeds going to Thame Round Table.

Santa's Sleigh - Wednesday 8 December - Saturday 18 December
Thame Round Table's elves will be helping Santa visit not only Thame, but Long Crendon and Towersey as well. He will begin his travels on 8 December, and you can track him on this link: santatracker.pentangle.co.uk

Street Food Market - Friday 10 December, 3.00pm - 8.30pm
AY StrEat Meet, a local family friendly food event will be setting up their stalls around the Town Hall for everyone to enjoy, so why not pop along and sample some of the culinary delights on offer.
