Christians Against Poverty (CAP) has opened a Debt Centre in partnership with Grace Church Thame and the support of all the churches in Thame.
CAP’s award-winning debt counselling helps thousands of people become debt free every year. They are committed to providing a service that takes into account the client’s wider circumstances and emotional needs as well as their financial situation, which means it is particularly suitable for those who are more vulnerable and in need of additional support.
CAP offers much more than just debt counselling. The charity is committed to tackling some of the main causes of poverty – unemployment, low income and life-controlling dependencies. This service is completely free and available to everyone.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, CAP has temporarily replaced its face-to-face debt counselling service with phone-based appointments. Despite this change they will continue to provide a holistic, personal service for every client. Once it is safe to do so, and following Government guidelines they will look to resume face-to-face home visits.
The CAP Debt Centre number to call is 0800 328 0006 (lines are open between 9:30am and 5pm Monday to Thursday, and between 9:30am and 3.30pm on Fridays) or click the link https://capuk.org/downloads/cap_debt_help/weighed_down_by_debt.pdf for more information.
