CHINNOR RFC Thame are calling on the people of Thame to help them beat their Oxfordshire rivals in a Strava challenge next weekend.
Over November 21-22, Chinnor are taking on Banbury RUFC, with the Community Group Cup up for grabs.
The aim is very simple – to walk or run further than our county counterparts over the course of the two days.
So, will you join #TeamChinnor and help us bring victory to Thame?
How do you get involved?
Download the Strava app on your phone and create an account – it’s all free and easy to do. Once you have done that, go to ‘Explore’ and then ‘Clubs’ and search for ‘Chinnor RFC Thame’. Select the profile and you will then be able to join our Club and see all of your teammates.
Who can get involved?
Everyone! We are a welcoming Club and would like to encourage the Thame population to remain active during this second lockdown. It doesn’t matter if you are not interested in rugby or have never been to Kingsey Road, we are a Community Club and the people of Thame and the surrounding villages matter to us.
When will the Community Group Cup take place?
From 12:00am on Saturday, November 21 to 11:59pm on Sunday, November 22.
What do you have to do?
We may be in the middle of Lockdown 2.0, but we’re still allowed to exercise (please make sure you stick to the government guidelines!). So, plan some nice family walks over the weekend, take the dog for that extra bit of exercise it has been craving, dust off your running shoes and complete a 5k or meet up with one other person for a stroll and a catch-up. The beauty of this is that every little bit of mileage will help. It’s up to you whether you run, walk or do both, but just please remember to log it on Strava.
Can you share it on your socials?
Absolutely! As well as using your phone to log your exercises, we're encouraging you to take photos and videos of your walks and runs. Share it on your social media accounts and tag us in your posts using @ChinnorRFCThame and the hashtag #TeamChinnor. We're looking
forward to seeing your posts!
Come on Chinnor!
