Charlie Fleckney signs for Chinnor’s Senior Squad

CHINNOR RFC Thame is pleased to announce the signing of hooker Charlie Fleckney.
The 21-year-old joins our Senior Squad from Greene King IPA Championship side Ampthill, bolstering our front row for the 2021/22 National League 1 season.
Adding 103kg to our pack, Fleckney is also available to feature in next month’s friendly fixtures with Rams.
The former England Counties Under 18 player started at Ampthill at the age of 13 and captained the East Midlands at U16-U18 and U20 level.
Fleckney spent a year in Australia playing for Maroochydore in Queensland before returning to Ampthill’s Senior Squad last season.
He is now looking forward to showing what he can do in a Chinnor jersey.
Fleckney said: “I made the decision to move to Chinnor as I felt I could be a valuable asset to the team, and they are the best club for me to learn and improve as a player. The coaching staff and team are all great and I feel they will push me to where I need to be in order to achieve my full potential. The whole team is very welcoming and hopefully we can fight for a Championship spot in the future.”
Chinnor RFC Thame Director of Rugby, Richard Thorpe said: “We are delighted to have Charlie join our Senior Squad with immediate effect. He is a tough player and accurate both at the line out and around the park. I’m excited to see how he develops over the next month as we prepare for our friendly fixtures against Rams.”
