Continuing from International Women's Day on Sunday, Thame Town Council wanted to take a moment to celebrate some of Thame's inspiring women who have won a Town Awards in the last few years (information correct when the awards were given):
Ann Midwinter - volunteer for St Mary's Church, trustee for Thame Museum, Thame Housing Trust, Thame Welfare Trust, and Thame Community Land Trust, Chair of Thame Town Women’s Guild and President of Oxfordshire British Legion (2023 Volunteer of the Year winner).
Clare Seed - integral to Thame Hockey Club through mentoring, training and umpiring (2022 Sporting Achievement winner).
Diane Mackriell - volunteer for Cuttle Brook Beavers, 1st Thame Scouts, Royal British Legion, Thame Bowls Club and Thame Players Theatre (2025 Community Champion winner).
Michele Pethers - for her role in Music in the Park, Thursday Music Live Nights, and Thame Pride (2025 Creative Arts Contribution winner).
Ruth Taylor - coordinator of Christians Against Poverty (CAP) Debt Centre (2025 Community Champion winner).
Sharon Smits - volunteer for Thame Carnival and Inner Wheel, director of 21st Century Thame and organiser of Thame Business Buzz (2025 Mayor's Special Award winner).
