Its official Atalay's Kebab Van is the best in Britain

Atalay's Kebab Van was crowned the best Kebab Van in Britain at the British Kebab Awards ceremony last night.

On the night that the Oscars was on, it was the British Kebab Awards who stole the show as the best of Britain came together to celebrate all things Kebab.

The most coveted award "The Best Kebab Van" was won by our very own Resul, Joshua and Jason Atalay, letting Britain know what all of Thame know already, that they serve up the best kebabs across the land.

The "Best Kebab Van" category was presented by Labour MP, Wes Streeting and it was a hotly contested field with 9 other nominees in the hunt for the award. The other nominees were:

  • M&M Kebab Van
  • Sami's Kebab Van
  • Billericay Kebab Van
  • Bodrum Kebab Van
  • Hook Kebab Van
  • Dayl's Kebab and Pizza Van
  • Ahmed's Bar B-Q
  • Highbridge Kebab Van
  • Diamond Grill Kebab Van

The Atalay Kebab Van first set up home in Thame in 1988 and has been a firm favourite ever since. In a previous interview with Thame Hub, Resul had described the chicken kebab as Thame's favourite, and praised the great community spirit that Thame had, which was confirmed with over 100 people watching Joshua Atalay's live stream of the kebab event on facebook at one point, and many posts across social media wishing them well done.

On behalf of Thame Hub, congratulations on this fantastic achievement!

We’re aiming to normalise the topic of death, raise acceptance, and help people make the most of their lives by breaking the taboo around mortality. It is not a grief support group or counselling session. These sessions have no agenda, objectives, or themes, allowing for organic, group-directed conversations about anything related to death, from end-of-life planning to fears and feelings, fostering open sharing in a respectful, confidential space. Death Cafe is run on a not-for-profit basis but if you are able to make…
