Appeal for information following attempted burglary – Thame

Thames Valley Police is appealing for information following an attempted burglary in Thame.

At around 11am on Friday (17/12) a woman approached the victim, a man in his eighties on Rooks Lane.

The woman held a clipboard and acted as though she was collecting money for a deaf charity.

She then tried to remove the victims Rolex watch using force and caused cuts to his hands.

The victim managed to keep hold of his watch and the woman headed off in the direction of Southern Road. She got in a Mini Cooper with the partial registration of GD52.

The offender is described as a woman in her thirties, with dark hair and was wearing a long padded gilet jacket.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Fiona Boyce based at Abingdon police station, said: “I am appealing to anyone who witnessed or knows anything about this incident to please come forward.

“To report any information you can call 101 or make a report online, quoting reference  43210568474.

“Alternatively, if you wish to remain anonymous, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
