A revolutionary technological breakthrough for incontinence launches in Thame

A Medical grade, technologically advanced and clinically proven treatment to rehabilitate the pelvic floor is now available in the heart of Thame at the ERA Skin and Laser Clinic - the only clinic in the whole of Oxfordshire to be able to offer this technological breakthrough.

Urinary incontinence; an unintentional passing of urine, is an embarrassing problem suffered by many, with an estimated 30 - 40% of women suffering from the problem at some point in their lives. It often takes patients up to 10 years to seek any help for the condition, sometimes even longer as they don’t want to ‘bother their GP'. Disposable products are the most popular method of coping with bladder weakness. The average woman with the condition spends £422 a year on incontinence pads, which take 400 years to decompose

While simple lifestyle changes help many, for others this is insufficient and additional help is required. The Emsella Chair introduces a revolutionary new treatment to tackle stress and urge urinary incontinence non-surgically. Emma Rothery, Clinical Director, says 'The Emsella Chair technology has been successfully harnessed in physiotherapy by the top athletes worldwide for muscle rehabilitation.  This has been extended to rehabilitate the pelvic floor, which after all is a muscle!'

GP’s are showing interest in the treatment as a non-surgical option for patients who are suffering with the effects of stress and urge incontinence, and are recommending the treatment option for patients to consider.
