Crews from Oxford, Kidlington and Thame dealt with a field fire just off the A329 near Great Milton yesterday.
Four crews were called to the incident which began just after 14:15 and were able to work with the farmers who swiftly cut a fire break to prevent it spreading further.
Thames Valley Police assisted with traffic management - the road is now reopen but please take care if in the area. Oxford Street was still partially blocked in both directions this morning for emergency repairs to a burst water main.
