MP Cricket Academy have had planning permission granted for a new sports (cricket) ground in Thame.
The new ground will be called “MP Cricket Academy Sports Field” and will open to all on Sunday 22nd April 2018. The new ground will be based at Kingsey Road, OX9 3JL. In total there are 12 acres of land for cricket and sports.
MP Cricket Academy have had planning permission granted for the below:
• 2 Cricket pitches
• New pavilion
• 4 Cricket nets
• 30 Car parking spaces
Manoj Palmer who owns MP Cricket Academy is an ex first class cricketer in India and is a member of the M.C.C. He’s been in the game for 34 years and has experience in all age groups, as well as being a qualified ECB Level 3 coach.
Manoj said:
“ The new ground will be for the kids of Thame and all surrounding areas and villages, and will provide academy cricket for ages U5-U19. After the academy age of 19 they can join any local cricket club, to help the English heritage game of cricket, stay for life.
“ Children will be able to play cricket on Saturday and Sundays, and junior cricket teams can visit the academy in Thame to play matches and learn from all different parts of the United Kingdom and World.
