Instinct and emotions are key factors in the final decision of buying a house for homebuyers in Thame, whilst the maintenance-free elements and the reassurance of a builder’s guarantee are the main appeals of a new-build home, a survey by Bloor Homes has found.
The survey found that whilst price is the top criteria, how the house feels to a prospective buyer is also crucial.
Beyond price, outdoor spaces and gardens were the second highest priority of respondents in Thame, who ranked this as more important than the number of bedrooms or whether the house was in the city or country.
The Bloor Homes survey looked at the psychology of home buying and found that nearly half of the respondents only need to see a property once before deciding to buy it.
For those who then go on to purchase their new homes, over a third knew it was their ‘forever’ home, with the majority of those who said that they were considering another move, stating downsizing as the biggest reason to move on.
When it comes to new build houses, modern build specifications, a builder’s guarantee, personalisation and exclusivity are the main reasons for choosing a new build home.
