Thame Youth Cafe Dates

Oxfordshire Youth will be running four sessions on consecutive weeks covering a variety of topics. For these sessions to work well we need a dedicated group of young people who will be able to commit to each session, so, we're opening it up now to get names for the sessions.

We'd like 8-9 young people and places will go on a first come first served basis. The details of the sessions are:

Yrs 10+ Cafe
19th Sept - Introduction, ice breakers and Relationships and Social Media
26th Sept - Safer Social Networking and Bullying
3rd Oct  - Resilience and coping strategies
10th Oct - Music and Philosophy in Hip Hop (practical session with Hip Hop artists)

Yrs 7-9 Café
20th Sept - Introduction, ice breakers and Relationships and Social Media
27th Sept - Safer Social Networking and Bullying
2nd Oct - Resilience and coping strategies
11th Oct - Music and Philosophy in Hip Hop (practical session with Hip Hop artists)

If you would like your child to have a place please send an e-mail as soon as possible to [email protected]. Please confirm which café your child attends along with their name.

We will confirm spaces closer to the time.

Whilst those sessions are running the rest of our café will still be running, so even if they don't get a space they can still come along and join in our regular activities.

Death Cafe @ Thame Barns Centre
You are warmly invited to attend Death Cafe in Thame. at 7:30pm in room 1 of the Barns Centre, and held on the third Thursday of each month thereafter A Death Cafe is an informal gathering where people can discuss death over tea and cake. We’re aiming to normalise the topic of death, raise acceptance, and help people make the most of their lives by breaking the taboo around mortality. It is not a grief support group or counselling session. These sessions have no agenda, objectives, or themes, allowing for organic, group-directed conversations about anything related to death, from end-of-life planning to fears and feelings, fostering open sharing in a respectful, confidential space. Death Cafe is run on a not-for-profit basis but if you are able to make…
